Group rejects work-to-rent plans

Wednesday 27th August 2008

Labour party members rejected Caroline Flints idea that social housing tenancies should only be given to those people committed to finding work.
The final draft of the housing policy which is to be voted on at the Labour Party conference states the need should be the guiding principle for access to social housing.
This shows a clear rejection of Ms Flints suggestion earlier that all social housing applicants should be made to sign commitment contracts showing their eagerness to work.
