CV Advice
Successful candidates are invariably the people who provide employers with the best CV’s.
Below are our top five CV tips to help you on your way to success!
1. Keep your curriculum vitae simple and easy to read. Present it professionally, clearly, and in a way that indicates you are an ideal candidate for the job.
2. Ideally it should be two pages of A4, typed and readable. Use the spell check! The way you present your CV effectively shows your communication skills; misspelt words won’t get you through the door.
3. Put yourself in the shoes of the employer: write down a description of the person they are looking for. The better the match the more likely you are to be called for an interview.
4. Don’t lie. Obviously lying in a CV is a no-no, especially about qualifications. Better to be proud and confident of who you are as integrity and reputation is just as important as qualifications.
5. Blow your own trumpet, truthfully, by emphasising your characteristics, your capabilities and achievements. Your CV must sell you.
